USAA and Auto Injury Solutions After An Accident Injury

USAA Insurance Company claims to stand behind service members and their families in its advertising.  The commercials evoke feelings of patriotism and service. In these commercials, USAA Insurance claims to have a high customer satisfaction rating; however, in our experience, individuals who have USAA and have been injured in a collision face significant challenges with their coverage.

The main reason USAA customers face difficulties after an incident is that they outsource medical personal injury protection (PIP) claims to a company called Auto Injury Solutions.  In all likelihood, Auto Injury Solutions solicited USAA and promised to lower claim payouts, which in turn saves USAA money.

However, in my opinion, Auto Injury Solutions makes it difficult for clients with PIP insurance through USAA to get the care they need.

The reason is that Auto Injury Solutions overly critiques every bill submitted for PIP reimbursement. They send bills for “audit” and then often have PIP claims reviewed by “independent” physicians or chiropractors that regularly determine that “no further care is necessary.” This ultimately prohibits the customer from getting the care they need.

USAA and Auto Injury Solutions From An Attorney’s Perspective

As attorneys, we see the “independent” physician and chiropractor reports on a regular basis.  Our research shows that some of the physicians hired to review personal injury protection claims by Auto Injury Solutions are deemed “intendant” and are not even licensed in the state of Washington.  Others have had disciplinary actions taken against their licenses.

To ensure our clients are getting all the benefits they paid for through USAA, we regularly have to appeal the “independent” decisions made by Auto Injury Solutions and even file lawsuits to ensure our clients are fully compensated.
